There was a little confusion over last week’s image. It was actually a Trebuchet. It’s a siege device that was designed to hurl things at castle walls to bring them down. They used counterweights to throw the arms and give more force behind the blows. There is a videa that I shared on a couple of blogs of one in Warwick Castle being used. It is the biggest working trebuchet in the world and is used daily.

The idea of Sunday Photo Fiction is to create a story / poem or something using around about 200 words with the photo as a guide. It doesn’t have to be centre stage in the story, I have seen some where the placement is so subtle, the writer states where it is.

Once you have written and posted your story, please add the link to the inlinkz froggy icon below and add it to the collection so we can all have a read.

The main object is to have fun.

  1. So are you going to tell us what this week’s photo really is, or let people come up with their own wild guesses? I’m leaning toward the wild guesses, myself. 😉

    1. I found that if I don’t tell people, then they can make up their own minds what it is. When I was telling people, the irem and location were being added, whereas like this, anything is possible.

But it is just a droplet of rain with the reflection of a block of flats in it.

  2. Hey Al, I think you should run a competition where we all guess what the biggest working trebuchet in the world is used daily for.
I reckon it delivers Meals without Wheels.
