Sunday Photo Fiction – June 17, 2018

Welcome to Sunday Photo Fiction! Each week I will post a new photograph, taken either by myself or donated by a member of the community. The challenge is to write a story using 200 words or less based on the prompt. When you finish, post your story and the photo prompt (giving proper credit to the photographer of course!) on your blog and use the InLinkz froggy icon below to add your story to the SPF collection. While you are there, take time to read and comment on some of the other stories. I know you will not be disappointed. It is that simple!

Sunday Photo Fiction – April 29 2018

Thank you everybody. Your support over the last five years has been overwhelming. You have helped me take something that was a dream into a reality, and you helped take it beyond that. You helped me build an idea from scratch and make it useable, and some of you have been there since the very beginning.

My decision to step down was not taken lightly. My rehabillitation has taken me into a different direction with keeping me in contact with people, and interacting through voice and action, plus the attempting to get down the stairs in order to get outside.

It has been a pleasure to bring these prompts to you, first through my own photos, and then with photos coming from some of you as well. The stories that were created from them have been astounding. The variety of humour, science fiction, horror, love, murder, fantasy and everything not covered by any other genre has been wonderful to read, and allowed me to have a peek inside and see how your minds work.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, every single one of you. A special thank you to Jules Paige and C E Ayr who persuaded me it would be a good idea when I was thinking about it back in January 2013.

And a massive THANK YOU to Susan for taking over the reigns and carrying the challenge on.

The photo doesn’t have to be centre stage, there have been times when I have had to read the story a few times to spot where the prompt is hidden. Please include a mention and / or link to whoever donated the photo.

The challenge makes you look at replacing two words with one, and a little jiggery pokery. A few words over is sometimes necessary when there is no way of shrinking it without losing an integral part of the story. Using a program like Microsoft Word or Open Office have a word counter so you can see how many you have used. A few of the stories have been going way over the limit. Please try to keep the stories within the 200 word limit.

Once you have written and posted your story, please add the link to the inlinkz froggy icon below and add it to the collection so everyone else can enjoy it as well.

The main object is to have fun.

Sunday Photo Fiction – April 15th 2018

I am happy to say that Sunday Photo Fiction will carry on after April. Susan has agreed to take over from the first Sunday in May. I think this will be in great hands, and I will be working behind the scenes with her for a couple of weeks while she finds her footing.

Sunday Photo Fiction – April 8th 2018

It is with a heavy heart that I say that I am going to need to stand down from creating the weekly challenge. I will keep it going until the end of April, and hopefully someone will step forward to take over the reigns.

With my rehabillition and what I am doing now to move forward, I am unable to keep up with the weekly schedule. Some of you will probably have known this coming for a while, with not being able to read the stories. I don’t want to leave it so it festers and drops into anonimoty. The challenge has brought a lot of pleasure to people, and it has created a community that sticks well together.

I would rather it carries on. I have done this for five years with a short break of a few months at one point. So if anyone wants to carry it on, please let me know either on the sundayphotofiction email address below, or on my other email address:
