Sunday Photo Fiction – May 19, 2019

Welcome to 2019 and Sunday Photo Fiction! Each week I will post a new photograph, taken either by myself or donated by a member of the community. The challenge is to write a story using 200 words or less based, on the prompt. When you are done, post your story and the photo prompt on your blog. Make sure you give proper credit when using the photo.

For those who wish to use InLink to link their story to SPF, use the “Click Here to Enter”  icon below to add your story to the SPF collection. An alternative to InLink is to leave a pingback in the comments below.

It’s a bit dark and stormy here in Oklahoma City, much like the photo below. Thanks to first-time contributor Terri Smeigh for today’s prompt.

Today, I want to do something a bit different. This week marks my one-year anniversary of hosting Sunday Photo Fiction. The year has had it challenges, but seeing the stories posted here and hearing how much joy this site brings makes it all worthwhile. To honor the occasion, I searched the archives of SPF founder Al Forbes (A Mixed Bag) and chose the photo that first brought me here. Thanks to Al for starting this amazing forum and to all you loyal followers and writers.

“For a long time now I have tried simply to write the best I can. Sometimes I have good luck and write better than I can.” ~ Ernest Hemmingway

Sunday Photo Fiction – April 28, 2019

***  I am noticing unusually low participation this morning. I realize there could be a zillion reasons why but just want to make sure it is not technical. I noticed some differences with WordPress yesterday when I posted. If it is something I can correct, let me know. ****

**UPDATE**  Many of you are still having trouble with the new InLink platform and I understand the frustration. It is what is it, however. For those who wish to use InLink to link their story to SPF, use the “Click Here to Enter”  icon below to add your story to the SPF collection. An alternative to InLink is to leave a pingback in the comments below.

If you are new to the site or flash fiction, check out the ABOUT SPF page with more information about the challenge. There is also a page called TIPS FOR BEGINNERS.

For those of you who would like to donate a photograph, the PHOTO DONATION page tells you how. And if SPF is not enough to keep the creative fires burning, the FLASH FICTION LINK page lists some of the more popular flash fiction challenges.

*** NEED MORE PHOTOS ***

Thanks to everyone who submits photos. I still have a handful of previously submitted photos. I try to change-up the subject from week-to-week to keep things fresh, so if your photo hasn’t been used, be assured it will be at the right time. I am starting to run low (my own inventory is boundless, but I like to share the spotlight), so if you have a photo that would inspire an awesome story, please send it to SUNDAYPHOTOFICTION@Gmail.com
