Welcome to Sunday Photo Fiction! Each week I will post a new photograph, taken either by myself or donated by a member of the community. The challenge is to write a story using 200 words or less based on the prompt. When you finish, post your story and the photo prompt (giving proper credit to the photographer of course!) on your blog and use the InLinkz froggy icon below to add your story to the SPF collection. While you are there, take time to read and comment on some of the other stories. I know you will not be disappointed. It is that simple!
If you are new to the site or flash fiction, check out the ABOUT SPF page with more information about the challenge. There is also a page called TIPS FOR BEGINNERS.
I am always looking for new photographs, so for those of you who would like to donate a photograph, the PHOTO DONATION page tells you how.
And if SPF is not enough to keep the creative fires burning, the FLASH FICTION LINK page lists some of the more popular flash fiction challenges.
Welcome to Sunday Photo Fiction! I am excited to start this new adventure as your admin, and I hope you are excited as well. The challenge itself remains the same. Each week I will post a new photograph, taken either by myself or donated by a member of the community. Although I live in the Central time zone of the United States, I will do my best to maintain the same posting schedule. The rules are the same: write a flash fiction story using 200-words or less. Post your story and the photo prompt (giving proper credit to the photographer of course!) on your blog and use the InLinkz froggy icon below to add your story to the SPF collection. While you are there, take time to read and comment on some of the other stories. I know you won’t be disappointed. It’s that simple!
You may have noticed a few changes in the look-and-feel of the site. I have added an ABOUT SPF page with information about the challenge. For those of you who would like to donate a photograph, the PHOTO DONATION page tells you how. I have also added a page called TIPS FOR BEGINNERS for those new to flash fiction and the community. Finally, for the true flash fiction enthusiasts, the FLASH FICTION LINK page lists some of the more popular flash fiction challenges that many of you already participate in.
Every Sunday a new photo is added as a prompt to see what kind of a story the image inspires in you. You should make your story / poem etc around 200 words, but don’t worry, you won’t be sent to clean Glastonbury or dunked in ice cold water if you go over the count. The main thing is to enjoy what you write and write what you enjoy.
Please take the time to add your link to the inlinkz page so others can read your story as well.
Entering the fifth month of the year. I wonder where the year has gone so far. It seems only yesterday that Christmas was upon us, and now it is May. Sunday Photo Fiction is over two years old now, and some of you have been here from the very start. I thank you for your continued support. I also want to thank everyone who has joined since then. Without you, this page would not be possible. Also thanks to Joe Owens who had the helm for a couple of months whilst I was away. I will always be grateful for that.
The idea of Sunday Photo Fiction is to write a story with inspiration coming from the photo provided. Flash Fiction is described as a story using under 1000 words. Sunday Photo Fiction suggests around 200 words. I look forward to seeing what you write. Please add your story to the link below so others can read your work as well.
Good morning / afternoon / evening everyone. I want to thank Joe for holding down the fort whilst I have been away. Whilst I am still away from my own blog, I do have time to do the Sunday Photo Fiction now, plus I have missed creating the posts. Thank you to everyone who has carried on whilst Joe has been here.
If this is your first time coming here, then allow me to explain what Sunday Photo Fiction is. Each week a photo is used as a prompt to get your creative juices flowing. Write a story of around 200 words with inspiration coming from that photo. You won’t be banned for going a bit over, but if you do, please don’t go too much over as other people will be reading your stories as well, and you want to keep them interested. As I am still on a hiatus from blogging, I may not be able to comment on each story written, but I will be reading them. I look forward to your contributions.
