In March 2013, Al Forbes conceived the idea of a weekly challenge for any writer to create a flash fiction story based on a photograph. Over the years, Sunday Photo Fiction has grown from a handful of writers to nearly 3000 followers. Although Al is now pursuing other interests, Sunday Photo Fiction continues to live on, providing inspiration to new and seasoned writers alike, and hopefully a little fun.
As the name implies, the challenge runs from Sunday to Sunday (or Saturday depending on time zone). A new photo is posted each week. Your story can be about anything as long the total word count does not exceed 200-words. Literal interpretation of the photo is not necessary so use your imagination; however, the photo should at least be inferred in some way within the story. I ask that all stories that are not family-friendly be advertised as such.
Stories should have a beginning, a middle, and an ending. For those new to flash fiction, careful editing will keep your words within the confines of the 200 word limit. Programs such as Microsoft Word or Open Office have a word counter so you can see how many you have used. Use a thesaurus to help with word substitutions.
Welcome and have fun.
great idea, can’t wait to see what transpires!

I have nominated your blog as the most influential blog. If you wish to accept it (and I understand if you cannot), here is what you do:
1. Display the Award on your Blog.
2. Announce your win with a post and thank the Blogger who awarded you.
3. Present 10 deserving Bloggers with the Award.
4. Inform those who you nominate via Comment in their Blog. The Comment should contain a link back to your blog so they know who nominated them.
You will find the award posted at my blog:http://mholloway63.wordpress.com/2013/11/11/most-influential-blogger-award-nomination/

Thank you Maryann. I don’t actually accept awards any more. I don’t have the time to do the link backs, and to me, likes and comments are reward enough. The only one I find different is the blog of the year award which I have given to everybody who reads my blog. Don’t forget to pick your up.
I do really appreciate the thought of you choosing my blog as influential though. Thank you

Hey there 🙂
I love writing prompts, and to find a blog with consistent weekly prompts with a great community to join in with, is amazing.
So in light of that, I have nominated you for the Sunshine Award over at my blog 😀

Hello!
I have been reading and visiting your blog. Loving what I am seeing and thus have nominated you. Think of it as a weird way to connect with other blogs. You can see more about this here: https://piggiesplace.wordpress.com/2015/04/29/versatile-and-neat/

Great challenge! I like being limited to a certain number of words. It helps me to write more concisely.

Me too. Even in my real job I now look for ways of cutting down my emails to as few words as possible.
